Thread: Papi's and the NOISE

I know I'm not the only person who is unhappy about the noise at Papi's.

They have these hideous televisions turned up so loud I can't even hear myself talk. It is ANNOYING. Is anyone interested in circulating a petition to the owner of Papi's to get rid of the televisions? I've spoken to them about it, and the owner is sympathetic, but doesn't actually think it bothers people. The lady who stands behind the counter hates me because I complain and she always give me dirty looks. Anyway, I think that if a bunch of students asked the owner would gladly remove the televisions, because we are, after all, his customers.

It doesn't seem like to many people care about the tvs and music. Which counter lady did you talk to it about? A. (since we can't use real names here) doesn't seem like she would hate you as long as you put your complaint nicely. And I know one time I asked her to change the channel to my soaps during from 12:30 to 1:30 and she kindly obliged. I guess if you could find enough people to complain you might be able to get something done about it. But his argument will probably be that the tv and the music makes the worker's day go by faster or something.

I don't mind the tv / music...I just with they'd turn it down a few thousand decibels.

i also like the tv's and music. it is way to loud though

its a nice study break to listen to some music and watch tv... takes ur mind off the books for 30-40 minutes

KVarner....this is where a library is useful...and if it bothers you that much...eat somewhere else.

i second that rjp, here's another infamous KVarner boo boo goo goo, the world is against me post... just speak with the lady behind the counter i'm sure she doesn't hate you that bad... but make sure you make yourself heard that you don't like the noise... SO SHE CAN CRUSH YOU

I don't mind really mind the TVs @ Papis. The noise can be a little loud at times. Even while studying in the lounge next to Papis I can still hear the TV and the music coming from the other side. If it does bother you that much speak to them about it if that doesn't work let your class president know and I am sure he will be able to talk to the right people for you.

I have taken to eating at rituals across the street.

I'm not the most tactful person in the world; it is very difficult for me to complain and be nice about it. I don't like to do that, and will only do it if I really need to. If something annoys me, I'm just going to be rude. Which is why the lady hates me. She even lied to me and told me there was no more diet coke and then I walked past thirty minutes later and the fridge was full of diet coke. I will be telling the owner about this next time I see him.

I really don't care if it helps the employees pass the day. I worked in a pharmacy, and no one let me turn on a television to "pass the day". Its called a job.

And, by the way: I don't like to use the library because I have to leave my bag in the baggage check room, and the attendant isn't always there. I really don't want to have my stuff stolen.

Wow, what a miserable malcontent I am! I don't want my stuff to get stolen and I don't want to get a headache from loud stupid sitcoms from the '80. My oh my....

even when she is there she makes you get your bag yourself...otherwise you would be disturbing her by making her get out of her chair
