Ewww....Serendipity is overpriced and awful. The rooms--they aren't apartments--are smaller than rooms at a Motel 8. Stay very far away if you want to be happy. Serendipity will make you sad.

I think the beds are twin sized, not full. I was looking at the website today.

I lived there for a while and it was a miserable experience. The management is completely unhelpful when you have a problem and there are LOTS of problems. Almost everyone I know that lived there moved out after a semester (as soon as the lease was over). When I first moved in, they would randomly shut off the water for hours at a time. That means not being able to shower, do dishes, cook, and having to brush your teeth with bottled water.

When the water did come, the situation wasnt much better. It smelled like sewage and look like it too. If you so much as turned on your faucet, you whole apartment ended up smelling like it. This problem would frequently occur over the weekend, when management likes to either turn their phone off or not answer it because they don't want to be disturbed.

The only thing they ever did after all our complaints was send in a plumber who would either replace the filter or put Cl in the water. He himself told us that this problem can never be fixed because they tried to make the building as cheaply as possible and took a lot of short cuts. Also told us that management is really cheap about replacing the filters and make them just wash out the existing ones and reuse them.

This problem started out occuring once or twice a month, but towards the end of my stay there, I would wake up almost every sat and sun morning with sewage water coming out of my faucets. I don't know about you guys, but I can start my day without water...meaning I cant function if I dont get a hot shower, if my dishes are stinking up my studio (bec there is no water to wash them) or if I cant even brush. After over 9 months of cmoplaining or asking for replacement apartments, I couldn't take it any more and moved out. At the time I signed up for my lease, I was assured that I only had a 4 month lease that could be renewed. The lease itself said 1 year, but they say its for one year, but you are free to leave after 4 mo. I know I was stupid for believing them but if any of you guys have lived there, your lease probably says the same. Anyway, since I never renewed my original lease, I figured I was free to leave and get my deposit back- I didnt!! I lost all 1k of the deposit as well as 3 weeks rent (775/mo), so basically almost $1500. Same thing happened to two other people who moved out bec of the water issue. Before I left, I told them that I'm going to make sure I tell other students about the living conditions and they sent me a letter from their lawyer saying they will take me to court for libel and slander if I tell people.

Also, they REFUSE to acknowledge that anything is wrong with the water. Their excuse is that govt water is just brown and smell and its perfectly normal. I know thats not true bec I get govt water at my current place and have never had a problem. I took samples of their nasty, smell brown sweage water bec I was going to send them to lab. I still have them if anyone wants to see pics.

Sorry this response is so long, but I don't want any other students losing so much money. The whole time I lived there, I was constantly sick, had allergies (they have wicker furniture which grows mold). Also, A LOT of the apartments have a problem with mold growing EVERYWHERE. Meaning you randonly see it growing on the closet door, furniture, corners, etc. This happens despite their "maid" that is supposed to come clean every week. All she really does is ask you for food, water, drinks, chocolate and to bring her back electronic products from back home. I moved out bec of water problems but a lot of other people moved out bec of the mold. Another girl that lived there moved out because she had termites in her apartment. She noticed them right away but they wouldn't let her out of her contract within the first week. They refused to acknowledge that they were termites and said she had head lice and brought them into the apartment so it was her fault. They NEVER examined her head and the last time I checked, head lice werent that big. Anyway, feel free to message me if you have any questions

Wow the length of this post alone is enough to divert my attention away from Serendipity!

Are you a transfer student? Why don't you try to live in school housing? It's late and all the good stuff is booked...my roommate and I are currently having the same problem! :-\

there were so many students that left, that management got desperate and moved in a bunch of locals. there was a cricket team staying there a few weeks back, and if any girl walked by they would try to holler at them and randomly knock on their doors in the middle of the night. when i would walk by, they would stare me down and randomly start cursing at me. it's not worth paying $800 to live in a shoe box with dirty water and utility bills that are ridiculously higher than normal.
