My husband and I both live here in student housing, i am a student and he is not. Be aware that spouses are not allowed to work, so take that in to account when you guys are discusssing your options. My husband is very happy here, he does a lot of fishing, and is always busy with his business online, and going to be the beach. His most important job of all is helping me around the apartment and keeping me focused. i think spouses are a wonderful support through medical school, it would be a much more difficult life here without him.
    good luck to you guys

My wife is here as well. I'm starting Med I this semester and she's not going to school. She also has a business that she does on-line that keeps her busy. We've been in Antigua for over 2 weeks now and have already established our routine. Even though classes have not started yet, she has already been a tremendous support. I know of some other students that have spouses back home but I couldn't imagine going through this with out her.

I'd like to see some kind of network for spouses to get together. When I was applying to different schools I noticed that St. George's has a spouse organization with a calendar of events with activities. My wife is pretty independent but something like that in the future would be nice while we're going to be so busy.

Only other major advice we would give so far is to be sure and get a car while you're here. It's more expensive but I think she would go crazy being stuck at the apartment if I was using University transportation and she didn't have a way to get out.

An organization for spouses would be a great idea. And i totally agree about the car issue, my husband Bryan would go a little nutty if he could ride around all the time. I think hes the most popular person on the island

I agree with having a spouses organization as well! My husband can go a little stir crazy sometimes here.

    Hi All,
This is Go Green’s wife, Andrea. We've been here about a month and have settled well in Amor Villas III. I would love to meet other spouses on the island. Islandthrift and tperrin do you mind passing on my email address to your spouses. Maybe, I can coordinate a get-together. If there are any other spouses out there, I'd like to hear from them as well.
    Thank you!

That is too funny. My husband and I live in Amor Villa 3 as well.
I think a spouses organization is a great idea. I am actually part of SGA and after talking to tommy, president of the executive board, we are wanting to work on getting this rolling. Being Med-2 though i am going to need some help.
Anyone interested in helping out, organizing events, or anything to get this off the groung email me at bellelo06 @ hotmail.com
