674 points Just call up FA and ask them to fax it to My Med Invest. That's what I did after they still hadn't received the mailed one. Be nice and it will be done immediately. I received a conformation e-mail form My Med Invest 2 hours after my phone call to FA to say they received the fax.

Okay... I think I may need help. I'm in the same situation as you Irish. I have the plane ticket and immigration letter and everything is good to go pending I get the loan. I called the FA office on Tuesday and I talked to SH. She tells me to send her an email containing my name, email, phone #. Apparently they have to send this information to MedInvest and then Medinvest contacts us personally. Well they haven't done so thus far.... I called SH again today and she tells me they will resend my info. Guys what the heck is going on with this school. Do they want me to go to their school or not. I really hope the FA office is doing all they can to get this moving, bc I seriously doubt it.
very concerned...I better hear something tomorrow or else they're getting another call from me Monday. It seems that we as students have to keep on nagging these so called advisors and AUA employees to get ANYTHING done.
that shouldn't be the case.
510 points Thanks for the help. Just emailed SH and will follow up in the morning. Hopefully I can get this moving forward tomorrow. Thanks again!
510 points I'm on the island now and talked to financial aid office and they told me to wait til someone from their end gives me a call. back. They said they would call me 24-48 hours, and this was a week and a half ago. Still no call. I actually called med invest directly myself and told them if i should wait for their call, and instead the person just took care of me right there saying their ppl know our school pretty well. Basically just fill out the promissary note, have your co-signer sign their previous 2 year income tax return and fax it to med invest. You're co-signer will also need to call them and just answer some security questions and acknowledge that they are co-signing for you. After all this, you should be good.
510 points i am beginning to get a little worried. why all the problems from fa at aua?
guys, those of you who have given your name and contact info to FA for mymedinvest to call you, they haven't contacted any of the students yet. i know this because i am one of them and i went into FA yesterday and they said they are aware of this. i know it sucks but at least they know that we have not been contacted. one rep assured me that our applications will take longer and they will be working with us as soon as we get contacted.
i hate having to wait too. shelf exams are coming up in less than a month and i don't have time to be messing around with loans then but it's the only option right now.

510 points when I talked to FA person on the island, she told me that she is going back to NY this week with all the info from us and someone else is coming from NY to help us with this mess.
Month prior to beginning of every semester is the busiest time for FA dept. , so try to keep your head cool. You need it as ever!!
well as of today they have 5 weeks before I arrive in Antigua. I would really hate not having my loan money ready when I register May 3rd and open up a bank acct with no loan money to deposit.. Please keep us updated on how we should handle this.. Thanks.
674 points Please make sure you place a few follow up phone calls not only with AUA FA but with My Med Invest as well. I received an e-mail two weeks ago saying my loan application was in the underwriting process and when I called last week to confirm, they stated they were still missing my proof of enrollment from AUA. I had AUA then fax it over to them, received a confirmation e-mail and in the e-mail it stated again, my loan was going into the underwriting process. I placed a follow up call TODAY to check the status of my loan and was informed that my cosigner's reference wasn't good because he used the same address as where my father (my cosigner) works. Again, I am being told my loan is going into underwriting and that is had not gone into underwriting yet. Make sure you check up on everything! The wait time to hear back from the loan company after the loan goes into underwriting in now TWO WEEKS!
