AUA versus SGU

have been accepted to both schools and am trying to decide which one to attend. thoughts? exclusivally self paying student so cost is a major decider...

SGU is one of the best, if not the best carib med schools. there are more students there and lots of better opportunities. also, you'll get accredited to all 50 states.

The docs at my hospitals where I work as a nurse tellme they have heard of sgu, praise it. My daughter is the one who is going to be going to medical school and we don't have any means to send her so she'll be taking out a loan. SGU has the better rep clearly. But she also has a huge undergraduate debt so we're trying to see if AUA is a good alternative. She also has a minor Adhd and takes medication. Does aua make accomodation for disability like in the states?

yes, she'll be taking out loans, but that'll be a drop in the bucket when she earns alot more later.

SGU without a doubt. Unless you have awful credit score and are like 60 years old and know you cannot repay your debt, it should not be the determining factor. AUA has a lot of things going for it, it's an up and coming school, but there are many things that SGU has over AUA that it will take years, if not decades (or ever) for AUA to obtain, 50 state accreditation being one of them. Plus paying out $100 mil for a whole bunch of new rotation sites is also a serious consideration, so SGU all the way if you had a choice.

She is mid 20's. But as we are doing the paperwork a $350,000 versus $200,000 debt difference seems quite big. After all what's the point of becoming a doctor if you can't live like one?
