Call Ms. P (rhymes with cat) at 268-481-8828. She has info about AUA housing and independent options.

Unfortunately she is not a huge help with independent housing because there is no formal list anywhere. When I transferred she only gave me suggestions of houses that were $2000 US and $3000 US a month and told me if i couldn't afford those i was on my own.

A great suggestion would be for the school to put together a list of independent housing to help out current and transfer students! A lot of other carib schools have those types of lists and it would be a HUGE help to the students!

If I'm not mistaken, school codes are used for Federal loans like Stafford of which AUA is not eligible. Good luck finding a loan. I think for most lending institutions, the school has to be in cahoots with them before they will lend. If you do find a reputable lender, please post their information. You are correct...anything is better than the vig Ed-Invest is charging.

If you still need a place to live, I know a person who is looking for roommate to share his 3 bedroom house nearby campus. His rent if not mistaken , he told me was us 1700 per month which includes electricity, cable and internet. he has three rooms so that would make it to 566 us per month. If you still need help to locate housing send me pm and I can give you contact for that person. Also, you can try to get housing in one of the student housing if they have any open spots. I have seen many students who initially wanted to live independent but end up at student housing for one reason or another. for student housing, the contact person is the same as mentioned by mr. tipton. good luck!
