AUA in May 2008.

I am looking AUA in May 2008. I have a 3.78 under grad and a 2.93 from chiropractic college, but no MCAT. What do you think are my chances for getting accepted? thanks.

He did ask a few grade questions; "I see that you got a C in this class, mind telling me what happened?, etc". Again, I just answered with brutal honesty and did fine. The gave me a slot within a week.

Are you interviewing in person or over the phone? Not sure where you're from but they offered to interview me over the phone and I asked if I could come down to the office in Manhattan (I'm from Boston). I'd like to think that they were impressed by that on some level. It was a long day in the car but well worth it. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Hey Irish.... Thanks for the tips! I actually am taking this weekend to prepare and at the same time just going over most of the questions I've seen here. I hope it all works out. Thanks again!

Hey Green.... I'm interviewing over the phone. I wish I could do the face to face interview, but I got an email from Ms. M.M. telling me that, if interviewed, it would be with her, so I'm almost positive it will be her. I'm actually from Houston, TX but have been in Vancouver, B.C for the last 2 years.

I appreciate all the support and I'll be sure to update as I get updated... It's refreshing to get advice rather than some just taking out their school application aggression and school angst out on you courtesy of VMD.

Will update soon.....

I would second that. Why not take the MCAT and give it a shot? It's a brutal couple of months preparing for it but with an undergrad GPA like that I would go for it. The offer it now through out the year which makes it a lot more convinient to study for.

That having been said, I'm perfectly fine NEVER taking that exam ever again.

Have you taken the MCAT's? With a GPA like that you'd have a shot at a US school!

No, I have not taken the MCAT. The idea of going to school overseas is very exciting to me...especially Antigua. I'm trying to convinced another friend of mine to apply as well. The only thing is that she lives in a sail boat and she would like to sail it to Antigua and live in it why she's going to school. Can she do that????

not easy to take a boat there...you would have to take a 7 day cruise (or 10) from Florida. the 4 day cruises do not come this far down.

I took the DAT for dental school and did about average. I also had a couple of friends who took it, they both scored less than I did & had lower GPA's as well. They got into Dental school because their dad was golf buddies with the dean. That said, I have a bad veiw on tests like the MCAT and DAT now. Besides, I am leaving my future in the hands of someone who sees me as a set of scores instead of who I am and the potential I have to be a great doctor. I want to decide my own future and go for it based on my own merrit, and efforts, not because someone says I don't have what it takes based on a single test. That Is what I love about AUA. I have the chance to prove myself to them and the medical communtiy as a person, because they don't believe that MCAT scores make or break someone in terms of becoming a great doctor.
