Transportation is a SCAM

I feel like I have been scammed by this so-called "student transportation".

We have the most ridiculously small and uncomfortable busses possible. I live in Trafalgar, and it takes almost 1.5 hours to get to the pre-medical campus by bus from here. The bus is over crowded (standing room only) and the drivers are ALWAYS rude and almost always play really loud music (so loud you can feel the bass)

This is unacceptable. I will be getting a car very soon, or I will be leaving. People love to say, "this is Antigua" and use it as a justification for every little inconvenience. The truth is that we are paying in US dollars, and we are paying a LOT of US dollars, and we deserve to have quality service.

If anyone from the administration is reading this: wake up! Your students are miserable with this transportation system. Figure out a way to ease our suffering. We are in medical school, not Sparta.

By the way: stop using "this is Antigua" as an excuse for inexcusable living conditions. We are paying a lot of money and we deserve decent places to live. Make sure everyone has hot water, for God's sake. And make sure that the cleaning service actually shows up!!!!!!!!

We aren't just your students, we are your customers, so treat us like you give half a damn about us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree about transportation being a scam. Having to take the bus from the pre-med campus to the main campus and then wait an hour to go home is a joke.

I will definitely not be purchasing the 'bus pass' next semester!!!

I guess it all depends on where you are leaving from and where you are going to...Last semester I lived in Amor Villas and transportation was fine...Granted, the first driver we had was a total moron, but they did their jobs. I can understand how pre-med to Trafalgar can be a pain, especially if you're standing...Let someone in the administration know...Usually if there are enough people complaining about something, they will do something about it...Good luck.

I think I would have been happier if they included the trasportation costs in the housing prices and just told us that trasportation was free.

we worked out a deal with a cabby to take us back to our dorm straight after class for a price that was competitive with the buses

i mean, they are not that bad. if only they were just a tad bit bigger. to be honest-i can sit in a horse and buggy after a long day of work/class....as long as i get to relax for a bit!

i know last semester, the bus rides weren't at all crowded. in fact, we have 2 buses coming to traf for the meds and pre-meds so they could go straight to their respected campus. this bus congestion is brand new really.

i guess it's just not enough buses or drivers or more students, who knows. either way this issue should probably be brought up to maybe the pre-med SGA officials.

Today I intend to visit the student services office and demand a refund of my transportation fee. I am not the only one who will be doing this.

It isn't just the over crowding. The bus drivers and rude and play really loud music and the commute takes way too long. The buses are also simply pieces of *****. The way people drive around here, you know bad accidents are inevitable, and the buses don't exactly have the newest safety features.

The least they could do is to not run stop lights and not bother us with loud music. Or any music at all. I know they like their calypso or whatever it is they listen to, but they are working, not driving their own car around. They might consider acting like they are working.

I think you are complaining a lot. The school cannot predict how many people are going home each time the bus leaves.

The school gave you an opportunity to become a MD, ponder on that for a bit. Stop complaining about every other thing. Praise the school you go to.

By all means do get your own car, problem solved!
