Hmm... well i would say if you have room then go for it, but it's pretty hot. I think just sheets would be sufficient, pretty windy around trafalgar area though. what semester are you bmoregirl?

You're going to find two classes of people on here. Those who say buy a good stethoscope now, and those who say to wait. I am part of those who say to buy a good one now ($80-$120 US). I have a littman.

Buy something that will lasts you for a while...I would recommend Littman (the cheapest in that brand)...and yes MAKE sure you buy from states...cause bookstore here has it but its 3x price...I just came this semester and brought everything with me that was mentioned on this thread...I didnt spend single extra dollar here....very informative thread...please take time and read and pack accordingly....let me know if you need any other help!!

Definitely bring a comforter if you sleep with the AC on. Definitely buy a good stethoscope(low end littman $40-50US). DPS teacher will not accept nurse (cheap) stethoscopes.

don't buy a stethoscope.... borrow your neighbors.... the instructors will borrow one of the students and everybody takes a turn on it.... but.. hey....you're already spending $30982309482097234, an extra $50 wouldn't even make a dent on that figure

list of things to bring
Please accompany these things when you come to AUA.
1. Blank DVD's (5 pk should be fine) 2. Flash Drive (2gb or 4gb can be handy; its 80 us $ for 2 gb at radioshack here, buying from states would cost u under $20). 3. Voice Recorder (for those, who can not type fast on their laptops or cannot take goodnotes during lectures; Med 1 is not that intense but Med 2 YOU MUST HAVE IT !!!!) 4. LAPTOPS. please if you have your laptop 4 years and older, you might want to rethink and buy a new one. We have atleast 5 students in med 1 whose computer has crashed and could not operate. Laptops can be fixed here but it takes time and cost a money...for example: replacing just a hard drive here is equal to buying a new laptop from states. It is very unfortunate that some students have their laptops crashed during the week of exam and as a result, their grades were affected. FYI : Every thing at AUA is on computer and only very few things are given to you in print. |

2) Flash Drive is good while you sit in class, because internet is slow or isn't working, so you can't download lecture file. This is when flash is handy, you can copy file from other students. In addition to this ---Bring external harddrive at least 150 GB, by the end of med1 it will be full 3) Personally, my laptop has recording capability and audio quality is good 4) Laptop is a must! look at 2 and 3 above |
