you must remember that retroactivity is not guarranteed. if it happens, then it most likely wont include any of the aua classes that were in school when aua was in its infancy. if there is not any retroactivity, then dont be suprised either. good luck.

Scott and the others are right. Check Saba's approval, it is effective dated. I would only count on a school that already has 50 state approvals in make a decision to go to a school. No one can predict when state approvals are given and how. Even then there are special cases - if your clinicals rotations are not all greenbook one's you may not be able to practice in all states. Texas for example comes to mind.

Practically no chance
AUA must have their application with Cali on file by Sept'07 in order for the OP to even hypothetically be eligible for the licensure in Cali. That is if....AUA gets approved at first shot. SABA got their approval retroactive only to the date of the application. But, now that SABA has their Cali approval, graduates who started earlier than the grandfathered period, are looked by the Cali CMB on case by case basis. So, if Cali is a must for you I wouldn't test my luck like this.

Do call up the Cali Medical board. You have to START your education in an approved school to be approved to practice there. (AND this assumes you do all green book rotations.) So if they approve while you are in first semester, you're okay. They might retroactive the approval like in Saba's case but don't assume they will do the same.
