Glad to hear it worked out for you Rahulb! However, Barrymore’s landlord would hardly wish to lose the income from leasing AUA units directly to the university, and take the chance on seeking leases from individual students. Making statements on this forum that are NOT CORRECT, based on hearsay, and/or other input serves no purpose, and certainly at the very least, can be misleading. Obviously, Rahulb has fallen into the trap of taking information from one source (Barrymore’s landlord) rather than multiple sources, hence reaching a false conclusion.

whatever you say tipton. the school has been less than honest in the past and i've experienced nothing but courtesy, prompt service, and fair fees from the owner and staff of barrymore. i wish i could say the same for AUA's housing department and financial aid office. the fact of the matter is, i've had 0 problems in the past 5 months i've been living at barrymore and will most likely extend my lease until my departure from this island. i spent 4 months in school housing (utopia) and it was the worst experience i've endured. the med1 students who were affected by the barrymore independence issue were mostly distraught at the fact that they had to leave for their 2nd semester. moreover, all of the vacant apartments were promptly filled by independent students.

Well Rahulb I can understand you are upset about your housing experience you had with the school but then again you might be one of the few who has that problem. I am currently a 6th semester student and out of the 4 semesters in Antigua I stayed at school housing for 3 of them and never had a problem. I agree with you about the misleading information you are talking about from school and that might be true in some cases but never at something that would jeopardize your education. And as far as housing goes, its always good to have a nice place to stay but essentially you are in a fairly undeveloped place so learning to adjust should not be an issue. As for the new incoming students, it depends on how far in advance you try to get your housing and where you get placed. So if you are not pleased with your housing I suggest everyone who gets in apply for housing as soon as possible. I'd be happy to answer any other questions for all the incoming students. Good luck and let your focus be on classes rather than other matters because thats all that matters on STEP 1.

let's NOT turn this into a flame thread/serve fest. enough of if the school pulled out of barrymore or if barrymore pulled away from the school - who cares.
this thread is about AUA photos and not about the last few posts - STICK TO THE TOPIC thanks
