Does your housing deposit have to turned in before they'll put down your request? So far I've mailed in my seat deposit but not my housing deposit.

So yeah, I just put in my housing requests with CH. I selected Group 3 (cortsland) as my first choice, group 2 (Anchorage Inn) as my second choice and group 3 (Mandalay) as my third choice. I hope I get Cortsland but she told me that Cortsland and Anchorage might not be available in Jan. '08. I know it may seem like poopy housing to some, but honestly I just wanted cheap housing that was close to the school and had tv and laundry.

Does anyone have any recommendations of where to live in Antigua? I am accepted for Sept. 2007.

haha, yo shay....I would change my housing if I were you. Don't "hope to get cortsland." Mandalay is ALOT nicer than cortsland and anch inn. 1) Amor Villas 2) Mandalay 3) utopia or trafalgar 4)Jolly (nice but very far) 5) Sugar mill 6)Sandpiper.

Well I wanted to live close to school. That's why I chose Cortsland. As long as I get a tv and laundry facilities I'm ok. Group III housing is the cheapest.

haha i've never met one person that was "hoping" to get cortsland.

anyway in the grand scheme of things, whats another few hundred when you're already 100,000 + in debt? also the walking distance part, yeah its walkable, but i haven't seen many that actually do walk it. the bus still goes there and picks up the students.

Well, I don't get it. What exactly is so bad about this place? C H told me the rooms come with a tv, mini refridgerator, microwave, a hot plate, and laundry facilities. Do people not like it cause the rooms are small? I know one girl on here said she had to clean her own bathroom when she first got there, but since I'm gonna have to clean my bathroom anyway or shall I say, I'm used to doing it, living at home and all, I don't see how Cortsland is bad. Is there something I'm missing here? Also, I figured that sure I'll still be taking the bus to school, but on days where the bus isn't running, or at times when I just want to go to the school and study, I don't have to be on the bus' schedule.

that is deff a plus. look, i don't want to completely bash Cortsland, but there are seriously much better housing choices. this is just my opinion, but coming to a foreign country, the LAST thing i want to worry about is my living conditions. i like to be able to cook if i need to, make breakfast in the morning, maybe sometimes relax on my couch or go out to my beach for a quick swim. these kinds of things you won't be getting out of Cortsland. the positives though, it's cheaper (i'm paying with loans so the money really isn't an issue) and the closeness to campus (which i probably wouldn't walk anyway).

i've had the opportunity to visit nearly all of the university's housing options. each option has it's perks, i still think trafalgar is the best but i have a biased opinion, but i can say that Cortsland is one of those that i would never live in.

What does it look like on the inside? I know the photos on the website are of group housing in general and they don't show specifics. So could you give me a hint as to what you saw from the outside or inside?
