Now i have one more question.....what should one bring when coming to AUA to live??? I have no clue....we're going to live in another country so i'm really not sure....do i have to send stuff by air (amerijet)??

Thank you all for your help...just so lost about moving?!?!?!

Can current AUA students tell me if there are better deals out there or if this is just some marketing gimmick and once you call, can you bargain with them for a better deal.
i guess its because they know you are aua student and they also know you need a place to live, so i guess thats why its expensive correct me if i am wrong. what about the college campus i thought they college has campus??

I too am lost as to what to bring along, what to ship, and where to ship it. If you are living in the AUA housing you do not find out your address until you get to the island. Any ideas?

I called the office today, and I forgot to ask about where to send stuff there. That's a good question among many that I have to ask, too, to admin about shipping.

Books and Housing

Hi, Ill be starting in May 06 for basic sciences. I was just hoping one of the older students would be kind enough to provide us with a list of books they used for 1st semester, as in which books we MUST have and will use. Also if you could offer any suggestions on housing, as in which is best place, and where a good number of other AUA students live. I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Thank you
Vinod

BRS Gross Anatomy and Benchmark if you can get a copy, for Anatomy.

Textbook is fine for Histology. Exams based on notes in this class.

For DPS just look at powerpoints with professors notes. Study Guide for Mosby's can also be helpful.

I forgot to mention about housing. Well see, students are somewhat scattered. A lot of students live in school housing. Depends on your comfort level what you prefer. One of the best housings is Jolly Harbour, but the problem is that its half hour by car. I personally would not want to live so far away my first semester.

Better to live close and then decide where to go.
