If you leave things around outside your hotel room/apartment, chances are that it will be stolen. Many of the thefts that occur in Antigua are opportunistic. There have been a few reports of breakins but school housing is generally safe - since the school provides security. Independent housing is another story. Every semester 2-3 students living in independent housing have their house broken into.

They're rly nice and spacious apartments, with kitchen and beach view. They're better than the standard hotel-style dorms.

Downside is flooding of surrounding area and when lots of fish nearby die, there's a stench which envelopes the entire area. Insects are a problem too.

Amor Villas is a decent place to live. They have a pool, free laundry facilities. There is no good beach close to it though. Electricity is 110, to the best of my knowledge. It is fairly close to school but not something you would want to walk more than 1 or 2 times. It's close to the airport so you will know when jets take off, but it's not too bad. They have a generator too so you never have to worry about not having electricity.

Moravian Church is near Barrymore, further away from school than Barrymore is.
