About studying and dismissed students

How many hours on average do you study at AUA and how do exams work?

How does one get dismissed from AUA (academic probation)? Or if you fail one course its Good bye?

hours = the second i get home till about 12 then i sleep till around 7 and head to school

This has been my trend since MED1. I use to go out 1st and the beginning of 2nd semester on friday nights, but I stopped doing that too. No time for that

You get dismissed if you fail all classes in one semester, or if you fail the same class twice. You are permitted to appeal if you are subject to dismissal, and if they let you back in you probably won't get loans.

I had the same experience, except that second semester was a bit less study intensive because there was no lab to dump hours of your time into.

either all of you guys have learning disabilities or you guys are a bunch of liars. who honestly studies 4-6 hours a day??? every day?? i can honestly stay in a week i average maybe 30min to an 1hr a day of STUDYING.

maybe you get this term "studying" mixed up. having your book open in the library while goofing with your buddies does not mean you are studying. reading your powerpoint and chatting online does not mean you are studying.

give me a break

we could all agree on one thing

I think we could all agree on one thing, you need to STUDY to succeed in med school. whether its 4-6 hrs a day or 8 hrs we need to study. 30 min to an hr wont do it, if you study like that you wont do well in med school i believe. Im not in med school yet but that much I do understand.

I guess it all depends on your study habbits, ability to retain information, future goals, etc. I'm a competitive person and I like to be at the top of the class, I'm not sure how yet much studying that will warrent but it will be whatever it needs to be.
