Alberts 4th Edition id much better - but the people at Frances Taylor are very difficult to deal with. Molecular Cell Biology 5th Ed. \ Et Al Lodish - Required \ISBN 0716743663 is good.

I enjoyed Organic and had the 2nd edition when I was a student. It is a really good text!!!

I heard that Langman is writing embryo questions for Step I now. That's why AUA selected it for the course. But, I agree, it is very detailed.

I just finished semester one at AUA.. And I can tell you which book you will need. No... you don't need all those books.
For Anatomy... 1) Moore
2) Netter for lab ( Other disecting book not needed)
3) Benchmark review book ( Not many people use this
book after first exam, Because BRS for gross
anatomy is much better. So do get that as well
For Histo 1) Just the textbook by Ross.. 4th or 5th edition. don't need
anything else beside DR. Singh's notes

As for the DPS.... You don't need to buy any books. just bring your stethscope and white coat. ( nobody even cares about this class)
