I don't think they are reticent. The website, manipal.edu, caters to the entire university which includes 12 colleges including their Medical school, Engineering school, etc. We're the third link on their admissions page, which is decent considering that we've existed 2.5 years and their other schools have been around since the 1960s.

Not that it matters, but there is no "twinning subdirectory." The file twinni...html is in the root directory of the admissions subdomain.

I think it's obvious that we care about the relationship more than they do at this point. But, KMC wouldn't have gotten involved with us if there was no benefit to them later on. And as long as our students benefit academically from the relationship, I don't care if we're the 19th link on their page.

But, might it matter if that benefit is limited to being financial in nature? Is it worthwhile to acknowledge this as a distinct possibility? Do you have peer-reviewed double blind placebo controlled studies suggesting the integration is to enhance the reputation of KMC or even that the benefit to KMC extends beyond a financial quid pro quo?
I'm pretty sure that the deal that the two schools have is entirely financial in nature. I'm sure I've said that several times on this forum over the years. That's unfortunately how schools in the Caribbean work. But as long as the school's financial interests coincide with our academic interests, I don't see it as a problem. I had far better teachers that I expected in a school as new as AUA, mostly because of this twinning program and other relationships such as the one with Tulane's Pharmacology Department. While I was on the island, the school made major improvements to its infrastructure, almost overnight. While they did that simply to get NY approval, boost admissions and make more money - students got access to a bigger library and better technology on campus. So, I have no complaints.

follow the money....

In advance, I apologize to the reader less interested in what may appear to be a trivial disagreement.

Thank you,

Jackb

Respectfully, I think we are responsible that our statements withstand juxtaposition and scrutiny for consistency. Presumably, the financial gain is now and "..later on.." Thus, I do not understand the "later on" comment, especially in light of your admission of the benefit being, "..entirely financial in nature.."
I don't believe they are making any money now. They only have a few dozen students in their end of the twinning program. In fact they're spending big to get the program off the ground. I was referring to future profits.

When they mean any medical qualification, is AUA-KMC degree among them?

I checked MCI's website, couldn't find info. regarding their "Foreign Medical
Institution Regulations", i mean is AUA-KMC degree recognized, so that the student can attend the exam?

Thanks

Ravi
