    May Semester

Found out I will be starting in the May 2006 semester. Is anyone out there also beginning in May? Also, is it easier to have a car or use the school transportation? Does anyone have a range of how long it takes to have financial aid approval and if it is enough to live off of as well as pay tuition? Thanks!

I've been on school transportation for four semesters now. The buses are regular and on time. However, they follow first semester's schedule. What this means is that if you finish at 12 and first semester has class till 5, you are stuck in school 5 more hours than you want to be.

My advice is to stick with school transportation for your first semester and then decide if you want to get a car.

Financial aid approval took me a week. The amount they ask you to apply for includes 1000 for living expenses I think - which is enough.

Hi !! Congratulations and welcome to AUA !!! I'm sure you will be really happy here and be prepared to work hard !!! there are really few students that post here because we are all busy having quizes, minis, exams, labs, etc.,,etc..etc.. Be prepared to a formal dress code for hospitals and some instructors require also to sit for examinations.

you can apply right before may, contact the fin. aid office, and they will help you. It is an easy process. make sure you have good credit report and a co-signer is better and does not apply extra fees to the loan if you have one. you do everything eletronically, including signature ( you and co-signer), so it's pretty cool and fast.

Hello all, I'll be starting in May as well. I think I've worked out all my bugs and have one hurdle left. I need a place to stay. Would love to get my own place but would settle for a roommate. Is there anyone who is looking for a roommate? How about the local news paper? Are there any Adds in the local news paper for housing that is cheaper than what is advertised for tourists?

Hi Commwings, from what I have been able to find out, it is easier to live on campus for the 1st semester and then move off campus. I applied to live in the AUA housing. If you find out any helpful information, please share.
