Hi there, i stumbled upon this news article last night when trying to confim to see if indeed this is a medical school. If you dont believe me u can google the article for yourself.

We reported on Tuesday about a second phantom Medical school that claimed to be operating in the country. The first fictional operation was the University of Central America School of Medicine and its website was run by Dr. Niazi Baker of Brownsville Texas. That operation disappeared as soon as our story aired.

    Jose Sanchez, Reporting
Last night News Five also aired a story about the fictional Charleston College of Medicine which listed its address as Dry Creek Road, Belmopan. Charleston was also immediately removed from the internet when we checked its web address this morning. The name that was affiliated with that website was Doctor Rod Tomczak, the Academic Dean at American Global University School of Medicine; and Doctor Thippi Thiagarajan, University of Belize’s Dean of Science and Technology. Did someone lift the academic background of both men from their respective universities websites and incorporate them to make Charleston appear to be a legitimate school? That is still not known. What is, is that information from additional sources point that Tomczak’s license to practice medicine has been suspended in at least one U.S. state. And coincidentally both Tomczak and Thiagarajan are alleged to have ties to Ohio State University. While browsing Tomczak’s American Global’s University’s website, we found that that school boasts a campus in Curacao and Belize. Its address is listed as Dry Creek Road, Belmopan. Scouts in the capital confirm that there is a building on Dry Creek Road with a Global University sign in front. However, we’ve been unable to find students. Calls to the school’s number failed because the number which is registered to Souhad *****, was disconnected for non payment since July. News Five made calls to both the Ministry of Health regarding the status of the med School and the Ministry of Education. The ministry eventually referred us to Cayo’s District Education Center. Officials at the district education center confirmed that Charleston did not exist, but they were still in the process of verifying the status of American Global University School of Medicine.

    update

There has recently been an update to the last article i posted. This article confirms the Agu Is a legit med school.

There are more details that are unraveling about the fictional medical university on the internet known as Charleston College of Medicine. The address provided is Dry Street, Belmopan. News Five has been able to confirm that there is an accredited school on Dry Creek Road which is the American Global University School of Medicine which also has campuses in the United States and Curacao. What we have also uncovered is that it was no coincidence that the phantom school resembled American Global. News Five Jose Sanchez spoke to the President of American Global’s School of Medicine Dr. ***** ******, who wanted to make it clear that his institution was a legitimate college. He said that it was former employees of the school, Rod Tomczak and Philip Roundtree who were responsible for Charleston. In fact, ****** says that not only did he fire Tomczak, he also reported the phantom med school to the Ministry of Health.

Via phone: Dr. ***** ******, Pres., AGU School of Medicine

"We entered negotiation with the government of Belize at the end of 04’. And 05’ we obtained a charter from the government of Belize signed by myself and the Minister of Education November second. In 2005 we started operations in Belmopan September fourth 2006. We do have a basic science program. We finish the basic science in the country of Belize and our students have the opportunity to go overseas to finish their clinicals in the United States or the United Kingdom or any other places around the world. So our operation is legit, our charter is a legit charter signed by the government of Belize. We’ve been accredited by the Belize Medical Council.”

    Jose Sanchez
“Rod Tomczak and Phil Rountree, what relation do they have with the school if any?”

    Via Phone: Dr. ***** ******
“The two gentlemen you mentioned, they were previous employees of the American Global school of Medicine. Their service has been terminated earlier this year around January of this year and we have no affiliation or relationship with their new institution or the scam they’re trying to pull of.”

    Jose Sanchez
“Do you think it was a coincidence that their fictional university’s address is also Dry Creek Road?”

    Via Phone: Dr. ***** ******
“Um, you know they were previous employees, they needed some kind of a base in the country of Belize and they were just malicious and they had some bad intentions to hurt the school. They used our box number, our address. Immediately after we were informed of their intentions we submitted an official document to the Ministry of Education informing them that these two gentlemen are using our mailbox and our address to run this new entity. This information was forwarded to the Ministry of Education immediately after we were informed about the suspicious activities.”

Classes for students of American Global University School of Medicine will resume in September.

Exclamation AGU is chartered in Belize

    To whom it may concern,

American Global University is legally chartered in Belize and recognized by ECFMG and IMED.

The school is chartered by 3 individuals. I regret to inform you that two of them are in the process of being prosecuted for illegal activities. Teachers and staff are not paid and students' funds are being misappropriated.

Dr. Hussein Othman is a practicing physician and the majority share holder of the school and is in litigation to have two non licensed physicians who own limited shares removed from not only the school but the country of Belize.

mal.. and mah.. sou... and ***** ***** have collected funds from students and have not performed. There are a limited number of students who have passed step 1. The mass majority of students have been coerced and under duress have failed to file police reports in hopes of getting transcripts.

I advise you NOT to give these people any money, not to agree to teach classes or work for them. It is your time and your money and the choice rests with you.

When these 3 individuals are prosecuted the school will resume. It is sad to report that there are scams in this business when so many hope to get degrees in medicine and become doctors.

There are good schools outside the US and in time AGU will rise above the black marks on its reputation. If your school treats you with dignity and professionalism and follows through with what it tells you, then let them know you appreciate them.

If your school does not behave in a professional manner then do not hesitate to move on and to let others know so they do not waste their time and money as sadly many have by their association with the sou... brothers and Ms. *****.

The above posts about a "phantom school" are simply a smoke screen to draw attention away from the afore metioned individuals. Do not be deceived by this immature tactic. It does not change the facts...it only clouds the issues and in all probability is written by these same individuals who initiated the interviews to begin with.

The point is money is being taken and students are not at this time being taught. Three students and unpaid teachers and staff do not make a school. Clinical rotations are currently being done in non greenbook settings which will not be credited when it comes to a residency and Larkin Hospital in Miami is suing mal.. sou... for non payment to the tune of over $20,000.

Please do not post things that are hearsay....if you can provide a link for credibility I am interested in hearing from you. Thank you for your serious consideration into this matter. (Sorry that the site allows me to give you the name of the legitimate doctor and the woman involved but restricts the name of the two brothers? hmmmm fill in ...ik, her, ...dah) Do your own google searches as well as Franklin and Lorian Counties in Ohio
