Who & Ecfmg

On the AGU home page they mentioned that it is recognized by the WHO and ECFMG. I have checked the OASIS, but i did not find AGU there. Also, what is the proof that it is recognised by WHO and ECFMG.

being recognized by those is really meanigless for anything solid. being who/faimer listed means that the school notified the WHO/Faimer of its existance. being ECFMG listed means that the school is WHO/Faimer listed and will allow you to sit for the USMLE. Neither of which have anythying to do with quality of the school or wether you can eventually be licensed...the school is basically saying we sent a letter verifying our address.

the only states in the US that look at foreign schools are California, Florida, New York and various others use thier lists of approved schools.

virtually everything is recognized by these groups. its a bare bones minimium standard that assures zero quality or licensibility to you.

Also I was checking on the web with American Global University, it pulled as "The American Global University School of Medicine an unaccredited school with a mailing address in Belmopan, Belize." Unaccredited really bothers me.

American Global University School of Medicine is not accredited by any recognised accreditation body. As such, its degrees may not be acceptable to employers or other institutions, and use of degree titles may be restricted or illegal in some jurisdictions.

this was stated on Wikipedia. Now why would anyone go to a school for that purpose??

All new medical schools (in the caribbean) are in the same boat. The school should not be judged on that. How the school should be judged is in 3 yrs when the incoming class passes or fails the USMLE.

Wikipedia is a site where anyone who has access to a computer can place their "thoughts of a definition" to any topic placed on this site. If you are serious about finding out facts about any subject, would you really rely on this site for factual information? There are plenty of factual entities which provide the correct information regarding accreditation. I am with sincere hope if one would search for facts, they would possibly consider more factual resources.
