State approvals
Quote:
Hoping that a school gets approved after you started the school may not help either as in the case with California, which will not endorse a license for those who started before their approval is given.

On issue of affording lobbyists that also applies to all universities within and without their country of location. The simple logic and fact of life is that: When the house of commons recognizes ASUSM, it sets precedent that ASUSM will further be recognized by other Canadian Financial institutions for the sake of students being able to get major grants and loans for their education (This also goes with my prophecy I made in my previous postings) So this is a reasonable premise to make anyone care. It goes to the standards of education and the human capability that cannot be replaced by funcy buildings, institutional propaganda and lobbying...Remember the movie "Akeelah and the Bee?" If you wanna have the best of both worlds "Practice in Cnd or USA" you may want to go to ASUSM. Simple. Making choices is nothing personal. Beside, it is cost effective to go to ASUSM. This is a bonus. You may choose to go to St. George's also. But can you manage the high cost of education there? You can achieve the same goal, MD by not going to Yale or Havard. Period. Magen-MD |

I am not a Student at AUA and I second what Scree said about greenbook rotations. Of the two island schools that get students back to Canada SGU and Saba - their rotations are greenbook.
About loans - since the credit meltdown - I doubt a loan officer would take the risk of loaning money to students who can't get in a top tier school. Does not make a hill of beans to a loan officer when he/she takes a risk. Make bad loans - he/she will be selling apples on the sidewalk soon...

Chemistry is chemistry. Regardless of where you take it. Periode. THINK! Depth and bredth of the subject matter covered has nothing to do with where you take it. THINK! Therefore the same logic by extension applies to the rest of the pre-med courses. Individual preferences has nothing to do with what students really know. This inherent misconceiption is the source of student failure in med-schools hence in clinical practice. It is nothing but misleading and unfounded elitism in politics of recognition in academia. Pure social control in academia founded by the very matrix that led to your diaspora into a foreign medical school. Yes, THINK! Magen-MD ================== |

best thing to do is to get a degree in canada and apply for med school there. having said that if you really have to come to carrib make asum your absolute last choice..try doing mcat and apply for the big 4 (sgu, ross, auc, saba) dont be intimitated by their high tuition there are many loan programs and financial aids... you will get your money's worth.. if that fails apply to AUA, IAU, st matthews, windsor etc...finally the last category is st.james and xavier and spartan..
and lastly if you really are out of all options you are gurantted acceptance in asum. good luck to all future doctors this is my personal oppinion and I believe im entitled to one as some one who has gone through the system. |
