75 is the passing two digit score correlating with a 175. Making an 80 is still under 200.

If you are graduating from a foreign medical school and you make under an 82 (200) on step 1 you better have cured cancer or something on your CV cause your chances of landing a residency program are in the toilet.

there is some truth that if you are not an American....if you are a true foreigner then you need really good scores

but if you are a US citizen with 75 to 80, you still have a chance in matching, now the chances to match in rads and surg are low but you will get pysch, peds, fp, and some IM interviews

you will need to apply to more programs and go on more interviews but it can be done....i know someone who failed step 1 and barely passed and still matched this year

Hey...Magen...... You claim to have done basic medical sciences and claim yourself to be a MD from probably one of pooh pooh Carribean medical school! How many times did you fail step 1 ?

Pass rate depends on school too....... if you are not satisfied then go to good medical school like Ross where I went then you will have a real feel of good and you pooh poohty place.
