Dominica - AVON Lady

Greetings to all Dominica Students,

I know how difficult it can be to get all the personal care products you need in Dominica. I am a Canadian citizen permanently residing in Wallhouse, Dominica. I am also an AVON Products Sales Representative. I can supply you with a wide range of health, beauty and personal care products especially hard to get items like sunscreen and insect repellant. If you would like more information please email me and I can arrange to deliver books to you at the Roseau Campus. You can also view the books online at the links listed below. Please multiply the $US price by a factor of 4. Yes I know this may seem high for you but the cost covers the shipping, duty and handling charges. When compared to buying the same products at a Dominican store, you will find the prices rather good. There is also the possibility of doing AVON Fundraisers to help out the local community or for your Student Government. I hope to hear from you soon.

Whoa, Whoa...although the prices are higher here than in the US, it does not reach that high of a conversion rate, maybe 3 X at the most. I think you forgot to mention the profit you make in that conversion rate of yours. Otherwise it would be 2X the US price.

C'mon, plz.

Clarification

Greetings,

You may not have read my original post fully. The cost includes the duty and shipping charges as well as the conversion rate of 2.7169. The reason why things are so expensive in Dominica is because of high duty charges, taxes and shipping to the island. You will notice the total cost of the items(x4) in the books are quite comparable to what you would pay for that same item in a Dominican store. Some items are even cheaper. For example Avon sells deodorant for $US 0.99 when you multiply that by 4 it will cost you EC$3.96. The same deodorant sells in most Dominican stores $4.50 and up. AVON sells quality brand products which are not always readily available on the island.

Purchasing AVON products may not be for everyone especially if you are able to get friends and family to send you stuff without having to pay the commercial shipping and duty charges.

Take a look at the books, calculate the total cost of some items and compare the price of the very same item on the shelves of a store like Brizee Mart. You will realize that I am not ripping you off.

If you need further clarification, don't hesitate to contact me.
