However anatomy BRS and Flash cards are a must. Rohen's atlas of anatomy...hm...I brought it...opened may be twice just of curiosity... But I had plenty of luggage allowance, since my boyfriend traveled with me and we flew Air Jamaica.
You can buy/order books from the Book store, but they will be more expensive and chipping is pretty expensive too.
Embryo is straight from the lectures and they also give you the book.

again, you are looking at the trees and forgetting the forest...
you are just thinking about the term at hand and while 1st term can be overwhelming, you have to think about what is really the important thing...its not betting an "A" in biochem or anatomy....its learning the material presented to you and retaining that info 2 years later for step I (the by product is that if you study that way, you will get the "A" in your classes...).
i said "review" for a reason -- if you think you are going to "study" for step I after you finish your 2 years in gnd and get 90+ on it, you are sadly mistaken...you ARE studying for step I from the day you start classes and the 6-8 weeks you take to prepare for step I will not be enough time to learn the concepts of two years of med school.
Again, the people i know that score 90 and over prepped their study material from the get go, whether it be making their own notes off of the lecture and textbook material or annotated 1st aid or the kaplan books- I personally annotated 1st aid (i wasn't efficient enough to make my own notes and didn't know about the kaplan notes) and its much easier to find the 5-10 minutes while you are studying to add the relevant step I info than try to go back later and re-read and and info.
