The way to really know is for more graduates to get Licensed and in the "Harder" states as well. This is what the Big 4 have done, in fact having California approval does not make "all 50" approval, there have been some denials of students from the Big 4 in a few states in the past. In fact I just talked to an old AUC grad here in Ga about this, he was denied in one state but Ga accepted him for Licensure so he is here ( yea years ago but this proves that times change and assuming that one state is like this and another is like that is just plain wrong.)
The states are Case by case basis and this is true for SJSM as well as the "Big 4" The differences are the Big 4 have approvals in a handful of states and have been around longer.

i agree 100% with you. basically until a school has more than a dozen grads in a state fully licensed (not residents) then it shoudln't be counted as "good to go". even then, like you said, coming from an established school is no guarantee (recall the ross fellow in texas who was denied license bc one rotation wasn't green in med school?).
also while there have been grads licensed in states using the cali list from non cali schools it is worthwhile to point out that the use of the cali list is relatively new in these states wether officially or not officially it has only been within the last one or two years so while a st mats grad may have gone into say tennesee 2 years ago it is not likely now. so students need to know that the use of the cali list has the potential to be a real issue since it seems that more states are using it..albeit very slowly but use is growing and they shoudl also know that the fsmb recommended states use the list or make one of their own 3 years ago and that is why it is becoming more of an issue.
