I'm from Ross and recently finished a lot of my rotations at Jackson Park. It is an inner city hospital in a pretty bad neighborhood in southside Chicago. For the most part, rotations depend on what you put into them. The Attendings have seen people from most of the foreign med schools so they have seen excellent, hard-working students and complete slackers. They will ask you to do something but if you don't they won't be on your back.

I personally thought it was great to train at an inner city facility because I got to do a lot. I also talked to a lot of people to try and set up rotations where I would be directly responsible for patient care and would be doing a lot (not just showing up, writing one H&P, and then leaving). One drawback is there are too many students there...too much hanging out in the lounges, fighting for charts, etc.

Some of the better rotations include IM with Dr. K, Neuro, FM (with Dr. O, Dr. Q, and Dr. K), ER, ID, Nephro (with Dr. M). PM me if you need more info
