I am a graduate of the HMI and Polish medical school.
To everyone i must state, DO NOT GO VIA HMI... do not go via hope medical school.
The Medical school in poland is excellent, but the only problem here is that you have to go via HMI to get in. I'm talking about the one in Lublin.
HMI really needs to get it's act together,... I do not recommend HMI at all.
It was a struggle dealing with HMI and because of it my studies suffered. Did they care , not really, as long as you pay them they are fine.
They have a 6 yr program. To those of you who are in HS and their parents feel this is a great and cheap and quick way to get the MD, stop! You need to understand that going straight from HS will not prepare you well enough for a medical school curriculum.
Do the 4 yr undergrad first, this will help you. Try to get in to American med schools. then use your brain and pick and choose the right program.
I can tell you that i graduated, but all with trouble from HMI and hard work.
Now if you still feel you want to go, then b my guest. Because you are guaranteed a MD but nothing about USMLE or ECFMG certificate.
Pro: easy selection process - have money your in.
Con: Do not prepare you for USMLE's
Schools curriculum does not follow US's but it's a medical school, so you are going to be taught medicine.
KAPLAN review is not offered like other Caribbean schools
Fee's are crazy high for HMI and they don't do anything (there is a 10,000.00 first time fee, for seat allocation, i don't even know why they charge this besides to line their pockets)
If you do decide to go, do not go to the conference and waste your money, it all repeats when you get there.
No support from HMI staff at all, only important people i feel that are there are gone now because HMI doesn't know how to retain good help.
James Wallmack, he's a talker, do not fall for his sweet words, they are just a sales pitch. (It's his job, so i don't blame)
