I am a grad from SGU. I went to Johns Hopkins for residency. I have been moderator here since 2003. I rarely get into School A vs. School B issues (check my posts and you'll see). However I couldnt let this one slide if the school is giving you this information and we're talking ab out your kid. my suspicion is that it is patently untrue that SGU students are transferring at any rate into UMHS. I certainly can't say it never happened, but if so, rarely. the only people I see going there from sgu are people who failed out. In fact I NEVER knew anyone while I was there to transfer anyplace unless it was a US school. I know a few have, but again, its not common. So of this rare occasion, Id suspect an infinitesimally small number would be going to UMHS (Ross auc and saba would be more like it and again...small numbers).
I recommend your daughter come to this forum and ask questions directly. It is be her life, her decisions and her responsibility to get facts. Some parents occasionally post here but really, your daughter needs to learn to do this legwork on her own. In fact self-responsibility is the whole ethic of being a doc.
I will also say that i am not commenting on UMHS as a school in any way shape or form. I know nothing about it whatsoever. Simply that I am HIGHLY skeptical of this claim and would want hard data- numbers and over what time period and written explicit statement that these are folks who
transfered rathered that
dropped out of sgu. those are my thoughts.
