A few questions ????

1. In regards to the ECFMG route, has anyone ever done their last 2 years in the US (Internado & Servicio Social)?
2. If so, how was the experience?
3. Does UAG have a list of hospitals in the US for underserved Latino communities where students can study?
4. Do you have to petition the Mexican government to complete the last 2 years in the US or is it already approved in UAG’s 6 year program?

From what I understand thus far in comparing 5th PW and the ECFMG route, the main differences between the two are the extra year (Servicio Social), Titulo, and ECFMG certification, which are not involved in the 5th PW route. But they are still very similar. I know that with the extra year it adds another ~$60,000 to the debt tab, but isn’t it better in the long run to have a full medical degree (ECFMG) than a certificate (5th PW)? I am not trying to trivialize the current situation, but I want to get a better feel for the 6 year-ECFMG route. I am aware that students do not want to waist time with an extra year, but is this the main reason why so many object to it?
