applying to vet school

Obviously students would prefer to stay in the U.S. and get into their in-state school to save on tuition fees and be closer to family, but unfortunately that does not work out for everyone, simply due to the lack of seats available.

I see many students apply over and over again to U.S. schools thinking it will save them money, but in the long run it is costing them more money by putting it off. Each extra year it takes a student to get into a vet school is a year off the total amount of years you will be practicing as a veterinarian. Two years of DVM income pretty much equals your complete tuition cost of vet school.

Just food for thought.
