I love L.A.
I agree with 99% of your post...yet after living in Dominica and visiting Puerto Rico and St. Maarten...I can safely say that I'll never go back to the Caribbean ever again. Maybe it's because I'm one of those people who thinks the world revolves around So Cali. Granted...living in Dominica is what one makes of it and really isn't as bad as most students make it seem to be (if you've travelled abroad). For myself, it's the little things that we take for granted when living in the States (ice with your soda, evenly paved sidewalks, service with a smile) that start getting to me around the time of the second mini. I think this is compounded by seeing the same people seven days a week for four months straight and not seeing the people you love for four months straight. Another thing that annoys the hell out of me is the anti-American sentiment pervasive among locals....and I'm not talking about people like Alexis or Addison who have a service to offer us...rather the average guy who has nothing to sell. Not to discourage incoming students...I'm grateful for this opportunity and wouldn't do anything differently...but there's always two sides and most of you will soon understand what I mean.
Enough venting for now....keep up the good work Mitch
Mazaltov to another semester of grievances...JamesStore...transports....Cabrits... and of course chicken!
