Firefighter brings a good point. In fact most people are indeed asked to edit their posts before infractions are given. In spite of the fact that all users agree to terms of use upfront and are expected to know them. Typically when someone gets an infraction its because they have chosen to ignore requests or there are multiple violations in spite of requests, or a first violation was reasonable serious. So interpret a person's infractions within that context. If one doesn't agree with the terms of use that they are asked to agree to, they of course may opt to use a different forum.
