It all turned out to be true and the journalists got a Pulitzer prize!
They were not impressed when RL threaten them with a lawsuit if they did not remove the English article from their website.
In that same article RL’s lawyer qualifies VMD as " a gossip website with an obscure character without any scientific value and not controlled by a government (sic)".
Apparently RL's lawyer is unaware that his client has used and misused the VMD forum with more than 400 posts!!!
So let us not deviate from the essential and try to blame RL's long track of dishonesty (plagiarism, lies about being accredited, false promises, etc) on alleged gutter journalism.

Well, I can not believe that you are comparing that article to what is consider to be one of the greatest examples of investigative journalism. The fact is the original washington reporters were basing their article on their own research and internal secret government sources. In addition, their research was proven by a massive investigation that almost caused the impeachment of Nixon. The problem with the amigoe's article and its follow up report is that is is completely base on valuemd, wikipedia and the president of saint james. Valuemd is exactly what the lawyer described because it is full of opinions from different kind of people who are pretending to be different characters. Man,if woodward and bernstein learned that they were being compare to that piece of yellow journalism, they would probably hang themselves right now.
