Hello all,
Ok, I got a good one for all of you out there. If one is applying for CA, I have heard that you wait to see if you get interviews. If you do, then you start the CA letter process with the CA Board, preferably before match time comes around. ECFMG says that in ERAS we should "create" a ghost LOR named "CA Letter" and assign it to all CA programs along with 3 real LoRs. ECFMG says that lets the programs know that you are going to get the PTAL (CA letter), and that eventually you may put in there, meaning send ECFMG to scan, whatever paperwork or receipt you have from the CA Board.

I am wasted trying to figure this one out. I'd appreciate input from those in the know about these questions:
1) Is there anyone out there that interpreted the process different?
2) What's the use of assigning an empty LoR just to let progrmas know you'll get the PTAL? Isn't it better to call/email the program and assign 4 LoRs if one has them?
3) Does this convoluted way work?
