I didn’t want to write anything since I don’t care if anyone likes CAHSU or not (since I don’t own it) but I can’t also close my eyes on some ** that I’m hearing in this forum from ppl who haven’t even been a student in CAHSU. Well here I go..I'm a 6th semester CAHSU student and I’m happy with my school. I don't care who owned this school or the buildings. My expectations are as high as the money that I pay per semester which is not much. I’m sure if CAHSU would have had charged + $10000 like other schools do, they would have better buildings (still, much better then other schools in Caribbean) 2. be WHO and ECFMG recognized 3. chance to become a doctor and take my steps 4. Been around at least for 10 years...what ever I didn’t learn from any bad or good teacher, ill take a kaplan review and take care of it (like any other students in other schools)...another thing i like about CAHSU is being able to live in TX ( students 3rd semester and up) and do my classes/clinical in Juarez which is 5 min drive from my apartment in El Paso, TX. I know I would be sick of life if I was living in any island for 2 years no matter how good the island is. Other then that, only other thing I can say is most CAHSU students are passing their steps with +80…not much thanks to school’s teachers but their system which allows you to do your clinical before taking your step 1 which gives you a lot of peace of mind and time to study your own for almost as long as you want to score high in your steps and unfortunatly, thats all it matters as far as getting residency. Also, CAHSU is not a Caribbean school, it’s a foreign med school located in small country called Belize…so I guess that’s why they can do that and others can’t…in fact I don’t know of any other school that lets you do your clinical before taking your steps which sound like a very big scam to me! In the end, Belize is a 3rd world country, not a tourist island where every day living items are 3 times the price, so don’t expect dolphins play with you while your scuba diving ( you could still do that since san pedro is 20 min away from school) but if you are serious about being a doctor, who owns what shouldn’t matter.
