I also have a year of volunteer work in a hospital, a year of research and spent 4 years in the US Army. I am just wondering if I should spend another year longer studying for the MCAT, taking additional classes to boost my GPA etc.. I know I could have gotten a fantastic GPA if I would have gone to a no-name college and did an easy major but with that low of a GPA, I don't know if they will take that into account. Any advice as soon as possible would be most appreciative!

Well, your GPA is the right range, it'll depend greatly on your MCAT I believe. Generally admissions likes to see an UPWARD trend, especially when going from community college to a university. Yours went the other way.
Make sure to nail the MCAT, your extracurriculars seem fine. Also write a great personal statement (and try to not use to the excuse that going to a no-name college would have given you a better GPA, that is not something admissions people want to see), and get great LORs. Best of luck to you.
