Rife with cheaters
A contingent of Ross students has further demonstrated their unsuitability for the medical profession today.
Now please don't misread my message. The majority of the people I run into at Ross are honorable students and are working hard and fairly toward their goal of becoming doctors, but there is a visible minority of selfish, immature and incompetent individuals who mar the experience for the rest of us (regarding selfish people, see my post about study space squatters for example).
Today was our lab practical exam. Because of understandable limitations of time and resources, the anatomy staff does not change the lab setup after each group. This gives the less honorable students in our midst who go through the test early the opportunity to cheat by telling their friends what is being asked on the exam.
According to people around campus, this sort of cheating happened today. Many people were seen discussing the content of the test around campus and phoning the answers to their friends.
What advantage people get by telling their friends what the answers are is beyond me. It only hurts the divulgers, not to mention the rest of us, because someone else scores higher than them as a result. But, alas, it is probably part of some sort of tit-for-tat among those people.
My message for the cheater scum here is the same as it is for the squatters. There is a price for everything.
Thankfully, the USMLE will be the great equalizer. Hopefully that will weed out the cheaters before their incompetence kills an innocent patient.
Oh and by the way, if I ever see anyone cheating I will turn them in a heartbeat!
