what kind of ink is available to buy on the island? I hear hp ink is available.....

I'm looking into buying one of those new kodak easyshare printers where the black and colored ink can be bought for ~$22 (kodak easy share 5100 or 5300 - 2x the ink and 1/2 to 2/3 cheaper price for the ink)

---------------------------------

A few other questions (and also add to most of these questions whether or not these items can be found on the island if need be, etc):
1) Can we buy notecards on the island?
2) Do we need a specific medical dictionary or will any do?
3) What type of notebooks should we get (1 subject vs. 3 subject) - and are these available on the island
4) What size binder should we get?

5) Important question about bedding - can we buy that stuff (and stuff to furnish our dorm with) on Saba (or possibly SXM)?

Side question - are the beds in the dorms comfortable? Should I bring a comfy mattress topper for the single?

6) For first semester - should we bring pots/pans or just tupperware?

7) Is the laundry coin-operated - do people usually pay the $2 (or whatever it is) for someone to do their laundry?

I'll probably think of some more noob questions for you guys too...just give it time
It's best to plan on buying ink or toner from the states (amazon, ebay, staples, etc) or asking friends/family to buy it, and have it mailed to ICS or the school. The selection of ink types on the island is minimal at best.

A medical dictionary is good - the electronic version of Stedmans is floating around, but any of the big-3 will do (Stedman, Tabor, Dorland). I particularly like Stedman on my PDA.

Index cards are rare and expensive on the island. I've taken to cutting 3x5 cards in half (the library has a paper cutter thats not too trashed) to save them. But, I generally buy them from students that are leaving.

Big Rock has spiral notebooks, the 5-subject are around $9 each.

I just received a mattress topper with memory foam from Costco (shipped through hassell-free). I wish I had ordered it my second semester. Note: The beds in cottages tend to be full size, in the dorms singles, so you might get stuck with a topper that won't fit when you move out.

Matthews dorm supplies linens and (really bad) pillows. I carried one pillow with me and shipped another. My apartment includes linens (sheets and towels).
