my advice to all NEW incoming students is that if at all possible, try to get to campus BEFORE friday night. i would say friday afternoon the latest, why? well for a few reasons

1. nothing is open on campus after friday 430pm meaning registrar, IT, housing, fin aid will all be closed and if you have any problems with registration, getting books, or fin aid and housing problems, you would need to wait until monday. it isnt really that much of a big deal just lot more things you need to do on monday and intro classes do start on monday plus the white coat ceremoney. avoid the extra hassles and worry and do yourself a favor, arrive a bit early if you can for the very first time.
2. if you do arrive late at night, better pack some food and drinks if you can, cuz nothing on campus will be open and you will have to starve for the night.
3. by coming earlier you have the chance to get things done and if there were any unforeseen problems, you have the time to resolve these before monday when classes start.
