OK - 2nd semester book list has an astounding 11 Books on it (7 mandatory books and 4 optionals) totalling $ 670. And I know we can get them all cheaper elsewhere but heres what the 170 or so current 1st semester students out here want to know:

Which ones do we really need and are there any books/resources we need that aren't on the list?

So any current 2nd or RECENT 2nd Semester Students want to give a hizzle-dizzle-rizzle on what books you think we really need to buy/have and which ones we do not need. I don't mind paying the cash but I hate to blow another $125 for a paperweight when I already have a $125 paperweight (Devlin).

Appreciate responses from those that are actually passing the courses or have passed without repeating 2-3 times...thanks in advance.

PHYSIOLOGY I
REQ Principles of Physiology 4th Edition By Bern + Levy
OPTIONAL Board Review Series: Physiology BRS

*** I have been told the Bern/Levy Book is a must and to get "Textbook of Medical Physiology" by Guyton and Hall (11th edition or latest) which is helpful????

*** I also have been told to get "An Introduction to Cardiovascular Physiology" (4th ed or latest) by JR Levick is recommended. Because alot of the second block heart electrics are out of that book and the instructor actually draws quite a bit from it (maybe similar to our BIOCHEM PROF and the Lippincotts book).

Well at a minimum I am sharing the info I have heard with any of my fellow rising 2nd semester folks out there and if anyone has any insight on what you think we need to succeed I appreciate the info.

Now, all of you rising admissions counselors need to get back to evaluating applications via the thread method i.e. abusing people who want to know what you think their chances are getting in to AUC...

All 1st Semesters - Good luck on Biochem Friday, Anatomy/Embryo Monday, and Histo on Wed.
