Hi,
Here is my input, Poznan has a longer experience with their 4-year M.D program, and therefore better established than Warsaw (Warsaw has had its 4 year prgm for like 4-5 years). That’s a pretty important factor since it takes a while before a prgm. takes form, before all the kinks in the system are worked out.

In the other hand Warsaw is the capital and far more money is invested in the facilities and hospitals. The Medical University of Warsaw was ranked as the top med-university in Poland, one of the factors taken in concern in this ranking was the facilities.
This doesn’t mean that the 4-year prgm, or even the English 6-year prgm, is the best in Poland, since the ranking was over the polish med-prgms, but it indicates that the university has a good foundation.

The English 6-year prgm. are basically clones of the polish ones, which are recognized by different states in the US, but the med-schools have to apply to each state medical board individually before their English program is approved.
Take for example California, neither Poznan or Warsaw are approved there, from what I heard Warsaw and Krakow are planning on applying together...or something like that...anyways most likely the 6-year prgm will be recognized earlier than the 4-year prgms. But the trend is that once one English prgm. is approved in one state the others follow, if they apply.

The professor and TA's at MUW are helpful and most of them are easygoing, most importantly they are very knowledgeable. The faculty staff is, as far as I have experienced, always helpful.

I think most people choose MUW b/c it is located in the capital and as all the benefits that entitles, not only for the facilities of the MUW but also for what the city offers.

I can't say that I have meet any 4-year student that has been displeased with the way their prgm. is managed or with their professors, etc.
Well, at least no more complaints then what you would expect from med-students...everyone naggs.

I am myself a 2nd-year student at MUW (6 year-prgm.), so I might be biased, but trust me...its not much of diffrence between Krakow, Poznan n Warsaw...expect that the 2 former are medieval tourist traps..
