UMS Poznan- Cali approval
Jerry,
Thanks for posting here! I was beginning to think that noone was interested in this thread. Ironic that you wrote to me about Cali approval at this time, as I just received an email from the UMS Dean's Office about this. They are in the process of applying for California approval. They sent out an email to all graduates of the University about reporting their USMLE statistics.
In the past, the University was not strict enough in collecting USMLE info from the students. I believe this caused them to run into problems with Cali approval. However, in the past 2-3 years they instituted several changes to correct this situation.
From my understanding, it is now mandatory for all students receiving US Stafford loans to report their scores/attempts. The University also requires (starting with the 1st year students) that all 4yr program students complete Step 1 by the end of the 2nd year of studies. In previous years, many students completed the program without sitting for the boards. Following graduation, many of them took a year off to write both Steps, and many did not report their scores back to the University.
I am confident that the recent changes in their will be of great benefit to the 4yr program. I am not sure what else is needed for Cali approval, but I will post any info I received in this thread.
If you have any other ?'s, please feel free to ask!
Regards,
ctkMD
