Question for those of you in the know about Cali requirements.
If I am seeking an Advanced position for residency in California, with plans to complete a Prelim or Transitional year elsewhere, will the programs still interview me since I won't have the California Status letter until graduation? I'm hoping this would circumvent the requirement, though it keeps me out of the Categorical spots the programs would have?
Second, is there any truth to the SGU OCG statements that we shouldn't do away or interview electives if we are considering California or Texas? Both Med boards don't seem to have any specifically stated rules against. Is there anyone from SGU that has tried to get a license or status letter and failed because they did an unaffiliated rotation?
