Peds Pulmonology Rotation
I just completed a rotation in pediatric pulmonology in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The preceptor is was Dr. Louay K. Nassri--very respected in his field and very kind to staff, students, children, and family and VERY smart. Working with him was wonderful!
The rotation was great. Unfortunately, there were several UAMS students at the site, so I didn't get free housing, but I still had free food, and everyone was friendly and helpful--just like when I was there for my core peds.
I learned a lot about asthma in children, which was the main reason I went, and I also saw Dr. Nassri's large panel of cystic firbrosis patients, as well as a few other exotic things. I looked at a LARGE number of pediatric chest films, which, I think, was very helpful (as well as sinus and soft tissue neck films).
Overall, the rotation was excellent.
