case by case is an interesting phrase. it can be interpreted many ways in different states. in texas they mean that a school must demonstrate that it is equal to a Texas LCME school. the criteria they have used in the past is has been the Cali list as well as the accreditation commission on colleges of meddicine. this body is recognized by national committee on foreign medical education and accreditation branch of the U.S. dept of education as an accreditation body having standards comparable to the LCME. this is how auc, SGU, and ross students can get federal funding and how they have been licensed in various 'difficult' states.
if you are denied a license it helps to show them that the federal govt basically recognizes that your school has standards similar to LCME schools.
so that is what they mean with case by case. how would you guys prove to these paper pushers that SJ has similar standards to a Texas LCME school?
