my guess

uncal herniation: as uncus is medially forced, ipsilateral CN III is compressed producing pupilary dilation , ptosis , and as the process progresses pyramidal tract is involved, with consequent controlateral hemiplegia . Further progression will compress brain stem leading to respiratory and cardiac arrest .
