Hey there. I'm kind of in the same boat as you are, but without an interview b/c not that far yet, and haven't really applied to any US schools either. The things I do know about Guad is that it is a relatively safe city. I've been there with my wife and her family as they are from there. The country is beautiful, and that region is rich in history and lore. Puerto Vallarta is about 5-6 hours away plus many other beach towns that aren't as crowded. There are a million things to in the city because it is so big. Living conditions aren't as clean as in the US, but you can get pretty good housing in a nice neighborhood and the apartments/ housing would be pretty clean. Guad is very modern and is home to many famous people both from around the world and Mexico. All of the natives that I met were very nice and outgoing towards me and this was even when I wasn't with my family. I felt safe enough to walk around by my self and alot of the locals know English. There are many Americans living there as well, not just for UAG but just to live in this popular city and go to other schools and pursue other interests. My suggestion about living abroad is don't go anywhere you wouldn't go in a big city here in the US. Once you live in one place for a period of time, you get to know your way around and know where to go and who to seek in an emergency. I've been told by my family members that UAG is a pretty good school, but I'm in the process of investigating my options for my self. I plan on going down there soon to have a look for myself and talk to some of the med students. I would also try to get stats on first time pass rates and graduation stats as well as residency and fifth pathway stats. Hope this helps and GOD Bless.
