I dont think his comments since they are WIDE spread on every forum including the so called big three are worth noting......Just my take on it........

you are WRONG. the NIH and research grants do not "support" the school. they fund research and research only and not a single penny goes to pay for lectures in basic science, anatomy lab etc. ever submitted a grant proposal? it has an extremely detailed budget analysis with it. so reasearch funding is great for the PhD's doing it but means nothing financially to the basic science or undergrad students and their curricula...it does give the school bragging rights though for example UI gets 60 million, behind very few others like UW (having bill gates giving them his spare change helps) and Harvard...
