Might I suggest you contact Elizabeth Farrell the Unibe Director of Student Affairs. student_affairs@unibe.edu.do
I am sure she can be of assistance. I usually advise first time students to rent an apartment at an apart-hotel. There are many and some are close to the school. An apart-hotel is basically a studio type apartment (some have one bed room) that is completely furnished with everything you need and comes with maid service. The nice thing about this arrangement is the fact you do not have to sign a lease. They rent by the week or month and that will give you time to decide where you would like to live and to select a room mate if you desire one. They usually have cable television and phone service and security. Don't panic; everything will be fine I am sure.
