Some advice for someone who is considering UNIBE, PLS!

Hello!
So glad I found this forum.
I'm 35 years old and have been out of school for quite sometime now......never finished my bachelors in liberal arts. I have very limited scientific background but wish to become a doctor and am willing to sacrifice what ever time may be necessary to accomplish my goal. Not to toot my own horn, but I am very intelligent and when I was in school, had very good study habits. I have been living in the Dominican Republic for the past 5 years (husband is Dominican)so accustoming myself to the culture is not an obstacle for me; housing is not an issue either because I alreay live here, have car, etc......My question is, what do you suggest I do in order to prepare myself fully for the journey ahead.......I was thinking of going to UASD (already have Dominican citizenship so I would'nt have to pay) and majoring in Biology for two years, then transferring to UNIBE to study medicine, or should I just skip all that and go directly to pre-med......I definately want to practice in the States so taking and passing the USMLE and the CSA is definately important to me, although I too want to practice medicine here....so many poor people in need of healthcare, I couldn't just abandon ship....but USA lisencure is definately important to me. The fact that UNIBE is not Cal certified is a bit troubling to me since California tends to set precedents and other progressive states tend to follow suit but I want to study medicine in English (afraid that if I study in Spanish I may get confused on the USMLE). I know this is alot to process but any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. ......... Thanx!
